A question we get asked a lot is, “Once I start going to the Chiropractor, is it true that I have to go for the rest of my life?” Let’s answer that question with another question: What other healthy habits do you strive to keep in your life?
You may seek to exercise 5 times per week. Maybe you make it a habit to fill half your plate with vegetables at meal times. Or perhaps you work on your schedule so you can consistently get 7-8 hours of sleep each night. These are all healthy habits that you hope to keep for life. You don’t exercise regularly for a month and call it good, fill one meal with healthy greens and not eat healthily moving forward, or get one week of adequate sleep and think you’re set for the year. No, you continue with these habits for as long as possible (and hopefully for the rest of your life!) Similarly, Chiropractic care is a healthy habit that benefits you over the long haul!
What qualifies regular Chiropractic care to be among these other healthy life habits? Chiropractic care keeps your body functioning properly. It rids the body of tension, distortion, and dis-ease. By correcting subluxations, a Chiropractic adjustment not only allows your body to heal but also provides immune boosting agents to keep you healthy. Like any other healthy habit, regular Chiropractic visits help improve and maintain your overall health.
At Elemental Chiropractic, this is our goal for all of our patients! Once we see that a patient’s symptoms are eliminated, we customize a plan to help them maintain their symptom-free life. For some, this means one Chiropractic adjustment per week, for others it could be one per month. Overall, we desire to see our patients living symptom-free for life!
Dry Needling is great for muscle tension and improving overall body function. The process starts with inserting a solid, very thin and flexible needle into a trigger point within the muscles for relief of pain, tightness and spasm. It is referred to as “Dry” because there is no injection of fluid into the tissue. When the needle is inserted into the tissue there should be relatively little sensation or pain. A recreation of symptoms is normal. This means we are getting to the root of your issue. A twitch response is also normal, but not necessary for effectiveness. Typically a twitch means the trigger point has been present for a while, but our goal is to catch these trigger points before they get to this stage. Once the needles are all in, they will sit for 8-12 minutes depending on the severity of the condition. We have seen amazing results with this technique and would love to answer any more questions in detail!
